Two US Patents and One US application
The patents in the Object Oriented Programming portfolio broadly apply to object oriented languages, development platforms, and applications. Specifically, the patents cover the process of interpreting code such that objects are kept separate from the steps of the execution process. This is a core characteristic of how modern script-based object oriented languages function. As such, the patents have very wide applicability. The claims of the patents also apply beyond websites and development tools, as object oriented languages are widely used elsewhere. Some engineering simulation packages, for example, also use script-based object oriented code and may fall within the scope of the claims.
Six US Patents and Various Other Filings
The portfolio consists of six US patents, one that relates to OLED technology and five that relate to AMEL technology.
The invention described and claimed in OLED patent generally relates to a control system for a passive matrix organic light emitting diode (passive matrix OLED or PMOLED) display, wherein the light output from individual pixel elements is uniform throughout the illumination period. Alternate language in the OLED patent further claims a control system that helps avoid overshoot and undershoot illumination in the display.
In addition to the OLED patent, the Display Technology Patent Portfolio includes five patents that relate to active matrix electroluminescent (AMEL) displays. AMEL technology involves driving a thin film stack capped by opposing electrodes. The stack contains a light-emitting material (a phosphor). Applying a voltage to the electrodes causes the thin film material to produce light. The light may be white or colored, although an amber-emitting phosphor is most often used because it is the most efficient material available.
One US Patent and Related Foreign Filings
The US patent in the Network Transaction Patent Portfolio covers technology involved in maintaining secure networked transactions. A major advantage of the patent is that it can be used in conjunction with existing payment methods without requiring significant changes in current banking systems.
