3D Handheld Scanner Technology Portfolio Or Licensing Offered by GTT

Portland, Oregon (May 10, 2010) — Global Technology Transfer Group, Inc. (GTT) announces the availability of the 3D Surface-Shape Measurement Technology Portfolio.

The technology portfolio, owned by the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario, consists of two issued US patents, their foreign counterparts, and know-how for developing prototypes. The portfolio discloses methods for non-stationary measurement devices to determine three-dimensional surface and sensor head position from scanned surface information. The patents are for non-stationary measurement solutions and include a structured light approach to 3D measurement. The technology is applicable to a wide range of technical areas including metrology, medical and dental applications, and movie and video game markets.

“This portfolio offers the distinct advantage of three-dimensional scanning capabilities without external tracking devices or markers. In addition, there is the unique potential to collaborate with several world-renown research universities and their inventors.” states Michael Lubitz, CEO and Chairman of GTT.
