Our Story

Michael Lubitz and Kari Laento sat in a bar in Silicon Valley in the mid 1990’s and penciled out the idea for Global Technology Transfer Group. They both saw a need in the patent marketplace for a firm that could effectively broker large patent deals between tech companies across the globe. Integrity and exemplary customer service were always at the forefront of their business ideals.

Michael concentrated on the US and Japan, while Kari focused on his homeland, northern Europe. Brokering its first deals in the telecommunications sector, GTT Group soon became a reality. Over the years, GTT Group has adapted and transformed itself to suit the growing computer, consumer electronics, and mobile communications markets throughout the world. From a singularly focused patent brokerage in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, to a full-service patent advisory today, we assist our clients with the highest quality analysis, valuation, acquisition and sales services, plus start-up equity-based patent development capital.
