Global Technology Transfer Group (GTT Group) CEO & Chairman, Michael Lubitz, will present “Realities of the Patent Marketplace” to the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Montreal Chapter meeting on September 24, 2015. GTT Group is a global patent transaction advisory firm specializing in divestiture, acquisition, valuation, and analysis.

Mr. Lubitz will cover how recent decisions have impacted the marketplace, and the changes in marketplace dynamics in the wake of PTAB and validity challenges. Using real market data, Mr. Lubitz will drive an examination of how the changes affect patent value and market participants. Special attention is given to post-impact trends and the challenges to patent divestiture and licensing, and the likely direction of the patent marketplace including winners and losers.

Decisions regarding patentability, FRAND obligations, and royalty rate apportionment have had an impact on the marketplace. Andrew Godsey, Director Asset Services of Global Technology Transfer Group (GTT Group), to Speak at Energize 2013 Summit

Global Technology Transfer Group, Inc. (GTT Group) is pleased to announce that Andrew Godsey, Director Asset Services, will serve as an instructor at the Inaugural Energize 2013 Summit this April 11&12 in Snowbird, Utah. Energize is an invitation only event hosted by the Energy Commercialization Center of the University of Utah.

Mr. Godsey will lead a workshop covering IP Protection and Commercialization. Mr. Godsey will also serve as a judge in the cleantech venture competition.

Since joining GTT Group, Mr. Godsey has managed dozens of global patent related transactions including comprehensive valuation analyses, patent asset sales, and strategic acquisitions. Mr. Godsey has been part of GTT Group’s lead transaction advisory team for every major patent transaction in the last three years including Nortel and AOL.

Global Technology Transfer Group, Inc. (GTT Group) announced that Michael Lubitz, CEO and Chairman of GTT Group, will participate at the United States Patent and Trade Office USPTO Roundtable in Washington DC on January 11, 2013.

GTT Group has expressed concerns related to competing government compliance requirements, materiality and confidentiality obligations, along with possible negative possible market impact related to strategic acquisition and market entry plans for entities wishing to reduce patent infringement related risk.

The USPTO is reviewing possible updates to the processes surrounding patent application and issuance and requirements regarding identifying the real party in interest as opposed to special purpose entities which are listed as assignees, but in fact are not the real owner. While GTT Group recognizes the need for transparency, the company is concerned about possible compliance conflicts, particularly in a transaction setting.

“We understand the need for and favor transparency,” Lubitz agreed. “Our concerns relate to unintentional consequences that may impact deal making and compliance issues related to the transfer of assets….”

The convention takes place in Seattle, Washington, with four days of continuing legal education panels, workshops, and networking events.

The panel will discuss Patent Battles in the Mobile Space, a subject that hits news headlines daily. Specific discussion includes how patents are defining competitive strategies beyond the mere defense of inventions, what is causing the latest trend, and how plaintiffs and defendants are navigating these turbulent waters.

GTT Group announces that CEO and Chairman Michael Lubitz joins the Panel at the Silicon Valley Chapter of the License Executives Society (LES-SVC) to discuss The New Innovation Playbook That Every CxO Must Have on May 30, 2012. The LES-SVC is a professional society comprised of over 4,700 members engaged in the transfer, use, development, manufacture and marketing of intellectual property.

Greg Kisor, Chief Technologist at Intellectual Ventures, will moderate the Panel, which will share diverse perspectives on addressing IP business challenges, including strategic sourcing of inventions to achieve competitive advantage, a playbook and mindset that every CxO needs.

Mr. Lubitz is the originator of the Patent Market Index or PMI, which is widely regarded as the benchmark economic index for patent activity within the United States.
